[Fix] Low FPS on Laptop – Counter-Strike 1.6

Some Laptop players getting Low FPS in Counter-Strike 1.6. This problem is usually caused by the fact that V-Sync is active.

Fix 1: Disable V-Sync via in-game settings

  • Launch CS 1.6, go to Options > Video, and uncheck “Wait for vertical sync” checkbox.
  • If you’re using OpenGL, type the following in the console: “gl_vsync 0“.
  • Save the settings.

Fix 2: Disable V-Sync via Nvidia

  • Go to Control Panel > NVIDIA Control Panel.
  • Select “Manage 3D settings” from the drop-down menu.
  • Select the “Global Settings” tab from the drop-down menu.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page until you find “Vertical sync.”
  • Disable it by choosing the “Off” option.
  • Save the settings.

Done. Launch Counter-Strike 1.6 and enjoy smooth Counter-Strike 1.6 experience 🙂
