[Fix] “failed to delete file” – Divinity: Original Sin 2

failed to delete file” is an error that occurs in Divinity: Original Sin 2 when something in your pc blocks the files. If you want to fix it, just follow the steps below.

Fix 1: Disable Antivirus

You get “failed to delete file” error in Divinity: Original Sin 2 probably because antivirus in your pc currently scanning the drives. So you can get rid of this error by temporarily turning off the antivirus that is installed in your PC.

To do this for Windows Defender:

  • Type “Windows Security” in the search area and open the first result.
  • Go to “Virus & threat protection” tab from the left menu.
  • Click on the “Manage settings” button.
  • Disable “Real-time protection“.

Now try again to delete files and it will work 🙂 Don’t forget to enable antivirus after this because it is quite important for your security.
