failed to initialize NVAPI error occurs in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive when something is wrong with DirectX Graphics Infrastructure files. It usually comes with the error “0xffffffffffe“.
You can fix this problem by deleting two dxgi files that are located in the installation folder of CS: GO.
Fix 1: Delete dxgi.dll and dxgi.ini
- Navigate to the installation folder of CS: GO (If you’re using Steam, go to your Steam library > Right-click on CS: GO > Properties > Local Files > Browse).
- Look for “dxgi.dll” and “dxgi.ini” files.
- Delete both of them.
- Restart Steam.
- Launch CS: GO.
Enjoy the game now 🙂
Note: If you have done this and the problem still persists, try updating your drivers.
